"Antonio Trillanes' obsession with President Rodrigo Duterte and his family needs to be stopped as it is already interfering with the vital work of the senate. The whole nation is now being held hostage by one man's megalomaniacal delusions. Trillanes is a menace to society. How long will the senate allow him to drag the institution through the mud just to satisfy his personal vendetta.
"Sen. Richard Gordon has said that he will file a complaint against Trillanes before the Senate Ethics Committee and move for his expulsion.
"We now urge the good Senator to make good on his threat, and do the entire nation a public service by removing Trillanes from the Senate in the same manner he left the Armed Forces of the Philippines- in utter disgrace," the petition said.
Gordon was extremely offended when Trillanes insulted the Blue Ribbon committee as a panel of "comite de abswelto". His remarks were made when the two of them are in the middle of a heated argument. Trillanes kept on interrupting Gordon while he was talking during the hearing on the P6.4 billion worth of smuggled illegal drugs to the country.
Trillanes insisted that Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte and Atty. Mans Carpio, Sara Duterte's husband, to attend the hearing since the witness, Mark Tagub, tagged their names.
For his part, Gordon said that is impossible given that there is not a single credible evidence tying the two as the head of the so-called "Davao Group". The Senate is not a place where innocent people should be convicted without the presence of evidences.
Taguba, on the other hand, withdrew his claims that the brothers-in-law are not involved in the smuggled shipment and that he never saw them personally, not even once.
In a radio interview with Gordon, he said, "Mahina talaga imagination ng mama na ‘yan, eh. Nagmamadali siya. Yung gusto niyang sabihin without proof, sasabihin niya. That is the sign of a very shallow, idiotic mind."
But for Trillanes, he claimed that Gordon would be lucky if he gers 3 or 4 votes from their colleagues.
"This is just personal to Senator Gordon. His ego was hurt and that’s all there is to it," Trillanes said.
"If he believes he can get a majority to sign, then he has lost touch with the pulse of the senators," he added.
